Though often avoided due to the cold, snowy landscapes, ice formations, and frozen waterfalls are unique and rewarding subjects to photograph. An overnight winter snow can absolutely transform a landscape or forest scene. There is a special serenity found in  being alone in a snowy woods the morning after a heavy snowfall, hearing the snow crunch under your boots as you make the first tracks in the fresh landscape.
